On December 8, 2023, Omutsu Johokyoku (Adult Diaper Information Center Japan) welcomed Yumi Shigeta (重田由美), chair of the Japan Regional Integrated Human Resource Development Organization, for an online event on “Thinking about Continence Care through Respectful Interaction.”

As a healthcare evangelist, Ms. Shigeta works on developing and training healthcare and care personnel and building relationships among different professions in local communities.

In this event, she used the principles of respectful interaction to discuss approaches and communication in continence care. Reflecting on our language, attitudes and relationships with others gave us an opportunity to consider everyday support.
