[Special Event] Childcare and adult care without overreliance on diapers, with Tomoyo Wada

On 13 October 2023, Omutsu Johokyoku (Adult Diaper Information Center Japan) welcomed Tomoyo Wada, Director of the Diaper-Free Parenting Research Institute, for a special online event on “Dignity in Toileting: What We Can Learn from Childcare and Adult Care without Overreliance on Diapers.”

Drawing on her experience as a childcare professional, Wada researches and shares information about children’s elimination, diapers and parent–child communication.

She introduced the concept of diaper-free parenting, which focuses on responding to children’s elimination needs.

Diaper-free parenting for children and adult care involving disposable diapers concern different ages and situations. Nevertheless, they share many considerations in responding to elimination needs, providing an opportunity to learn together with participants.
