[Special Event] Learning about Swedish care and its history with Gustav Strandell

On March 22, 2024, we welcomed Gustav Strandell, Representative Director of International Care System Co., Ltd., for an online seminar, “My Experiences of Care in Sweden.”

Originally from Sweden, Gustav has researched welfare for older people in Sweden and Japan and has also been involved in operating care services in Japan.

Drawing on his own experiences, he discussed Swedish history, its social background and approaches to care.

Participants learned about Swedish care and exchanged opinions on differences from Japan. Comparing care overseas also offered an opportunity to reflect on the practices and strengths developed through Japan’s own experience.
