On November 13, 2023, Omutsu Johokyoku (Adult Diaper Information Center Japan) welcomed Tomoyuki Kawakita, Representative Director of the Association for the Promotion of Home-Visit Rehabilitation, for an online study session, “Thinking about Continence Care through the ICF.”

As a physiotherapist and ICF coordinator, Kawakita provides training on applying the ICF (International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health) in practice and works on home-visit rehabilitation.

He discussed the ICF perspective, which considers continence care not only in terms of toileting movements and physical function but also activities, social participation, living environments and individual backgrounds.
