Hiroshi Yagi spoke at a webinar co-hosted by Magic Shields and aba

On January 22, 2026, Hiroshi Yagi, representative of OMUTSU Delivery, spoke at an online webinar co-hosted by Magic Shields Co., Ltd. and aba Inc.

His talk was titled “Practical Applications: Diapers as Assistive Products for Independence.”

The study session explored falls and continence from a range of perspectives. It was organized by Magic Shields, developer of the Koroyawa floor and mat designed to reduce fracture risk in falls, and aba, developer of the Helppad continence sensor.

Thinking of diapers as assistive products for independence

Drawing on his practical work and training activities involving adult diapers, Hiroshi Yagi covered the following topics:

Diapers as assistive products for independence
Social continence, a new perspective on continence care
Practical applications of adult diapers
The latest information on adult diapers
Activities at O-MU-TSU WORLD EXPO

Diapers do more than absorb waste. When appropriately selected and used to suit physical condition and living environments, they can also serve as assistive products supporting a person’s life and activities.

Considering falls and continence together

Standing up to use the toilet, moving, and managing clothing or diapers can all involve a risk of falling.

Especially at night or when rushing to the toilet, it is important to consider fall prevention and the toileting environment together, including physical condition, assistive products, flooring, monitoring and the route to the toilet.

This was a valuable opportunity to bring together the perspectives of Magic Shields, working on fall-related fracture prevention; aba, developing continence detection technology; and Hiroshi Yagi, working with adult diapers.

Thank you to everyone who attended, and to the teams at Magic Shields and aba for organizing the session.
