[AR Diaper Project] A future O-MU-TSU augmented reality experience created with Tokyo Metropolitan University

In June 2025, we released the “O-MU-TSU WORLD AR App PROJECT,” jointly produced with the Department of Industrial Art, Graduate School of Systems Design, Tokyo Metropolitan University.

By scanning a QR code on the dedicated page with a smartphone and showing their whole body on screen, users can virtually try on O-MU-TSU incorporating futuristic designs. Alongside the AR experience, the website also released 3D data for the O-MU-TSU designs.

At related O-MU-TSU WORLD EXPO events held from 24 to 26 June 2025, visitors could choose between designs in a large-screen AR experience, view 3D models on tablets, and see an “AR runway” with models walking on their smartphones.

The AR production was supported by a team centered on faculty and students from the Department of Industrial Art at Tokyo Metropolitan University’s Graduate School of Systems Design. Combining design and digital technology made it possible to experience future diapers visually.

Hiroshi Yagi also participated in this project as Deputy Representative Director of the Japan Welfare and Medical Fashion Association.
