[Online Event] Dementia basics and BPSD with certified occupational therapist Minoru Kaji

On 20 September 2023, Omutsu Johokyoku (Adult Diaper Information Center Japan) welcomed Minoru Kaji (鍛治実), a certified occupational therapist and dementia care specialist, for an online ShareComi session on “Dementia Basics: Considering BPSD.”

BPSD refers to behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia. Supporting people with dementia requires considering the context behind their behavior, not only the behavior visible in front of us.

Kaji introduced dementia basics and ways of understanding BPSD that can inform everyday support.

Participants asked many questions, creating an opportunity to gain a variety of insights into approaches in healthcare and care settings.
