[Barrier Free 2025] A Diaper Exhibition and a Care Lift at the Diaper-Changing Area

Barrier Free 2025 was held at INTEX Osaka from April 16 to 18, 2025.

In Hall 3, we presented a diaper exhibition ahead of O-MU-TSU WORLD EXPO, scheduled for June 24 at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. We introduced an initiative exploring future diapers through welfare, healthcare and fashion.

A care lift was also installed at the temporary diaper-changing area in Hall 4 with the cooperation of Abilities Care-net, Inc.

Changing a diaper away from home requires a large bed or adult-sized changing bench on which someone can lie down. Even when a bed is available, however, some people find it difficult to transfer from a wheelchair to the bed. For these individuals to change their diapers, a care lift that lifts and supports the body during a transfer is also needed.

We would first like more people to understand that some individuals need a care lift in diaper-changing areas away from home.

Our representative, Hiroshi Yagi, was involved in the diaper exhibition leading up to O-MU-TSU WORLD EXPO and the diaper-changing area equipped with a care lift, as vice representative director of the Japan Welfare & Medical Fashion Association.
