Considering the future of diapers with participants
The main activities were:
- The journey from a neighborhood diaper shop to Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan
- The journey from a Paris fashion show to Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan
- A diaper design activity for participants
- Exchanging ideas ahead of the Expo
Plans are underway for O-MU-TSU WORLD EXPO to present a diaper collection on one of the world’s largest scales at EXPO Hall at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
With people working to improve continence care, we considered ideal diapers and future designs, discussing what those involved in continence care across Japan could share with the world together.
Participants also developed diaper designs, making this a participatory workshop that brought together experience and perspectives from different care settings.
It was a valuable opportunity to consider future diapers from a broad range of perspectives, including not only users’ physical conditions and daily lives, but also fashion, design, outings and social participation.
Thank you to everyone who attended in person or online, and to the Aichi Continence Care Study Group for providing this opportunity.
