On July 15, 2022, Omutsu Johokyoku (Adult Diaper Information Center Japan) welcomed Mitsuko (リッチャー美津子), who works in care and nursing in Switzerland, for a special online event, “My Experiences of Continence Care Overseas.”
She has worked in healthcare and care in Japan as a nurse and care manager, and provides care and nursing for older people and people with disabilities in Switzerland. As representative of JAMSNET Switzerland, she is also involved in supporting the health of Japanese people living there.
Drawing on her experience working in both Japan and Switzerland, she discussed characteristics of continence care she had encountered overseas and differences from Japan.
Care systems, daily habits and approaches to continence care differ between countries and regions. Learning about practice overseas offered an opportunity to reconsider the support and adult diaper use we provide in Japan.
Thank you to our guest and everyone who attended.
