[Special Event] “Diapers and Skin Problems” with Katsumi Urata

On October 22, 2021, Omutsu Johokyoku (Adult Diaper Information Center Japan) welcomed Katsumi Urata of Tokatsu Clinic Hospital to teach an online event, “Diapers and Skin Problems.”

Urata is a nursing department supervisor at Tokatsu Clinic Hospital and a certified wound, ostomy and continence nurse with training in specified medical procedures. Urata provides specialist care and information concerning pressure injuries, wounds and skin problems related to continence.

Urata discussed skin problems that can arise when using diapers from a specialist perspective. The session offered an opportunity to learn the importance of observing skin condition and connecting it with appropriate care when considering the selection and use of adult diapers.

Our online study sessions, which began in June 2021, have continued, and we were able to hold our first special event. Eighty people attended.
