On 11 April 2024, we welcomed Nahoko Robinson of Wabi-Sabi Care for an International Diaper Study Group session, “Let’s Hear About Care in the UK in English.”
Nahoko Robinson works in care in the UK as an occupational therapist.
She presented in English on the UK care system and support provided locally. We also learned about the NHS, the United Kingdom’s public healthcare system.
The entire session was conducted in English. Participants shared opinions and questions in English, discussing differences between the UK and Japan. Limited to three participants, it provided a small, dialogue-centered learning environment.
Hiroshi Yagi, administrator of Omutsu Johokyoku (Adult Diaper Information Center Japan), planned and ran the session. We learned alongside participants while practicing communication in English with Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan in mind.
Thank you to Nahoko Robinson and everyone who participated.
