On 24 July 2025, we welcomed Tsutomu Mieno (三重野勤) of Paramount Bed Co., Ltd. as lecturer for an online study session on “Using Continence Sensors for Digital Transformation.”

The products introduced were “Omutsu COLOR” (おむつCOLOR), a bowel movement sensor for disposable diapers, and “Toilet DIARY” (トイレDIARY), an automated toileting record system.

Omutsu COLOR uses a sensor attached to a disposable diaper to detect bowel movements and notify staff through smartphones or other devices.

Toilet DIARY uses sensors to detect entry into a toilet, sitting, and toileting information, automatically recording the data.

The session covered the features and mechanisms of each product, and approaches to digitally capturing and recording toileting information for use in everyday care.

It offered healthcare and care professionals involved in continence care an opportunity to learn about the latest continence sensors and digital transformation in care, and to consider future applications.

Thank you to our speaker, Tsutomu Mieno, and everyone who participated.
