On 28 June 2024, we welcomed Dr. Yoko Yoshikawa of Komaki City Hospital for an online seminar on “Urination Basics: Considering Continence Care and Diapers.”

Dr. Yoshikawa heads the hospital’s Urinary Care Center and is also active in the certified NPO Aichi Continence Care Study Group.

She gave an accessible explanation of how urination works and its basic principles. Learning about urination enabled us to consider its relationship with continence care and diapers together with participants.

Drawing inspiration from the wide range of topics addressed by the Aichi Continence Care Study Group, Omutsu Johokyoku (Adult Diaper Information Center Japan) has expanded the subjects covered in its study sessions. The discussion also generated many ideas for future topics on bladder and bowel care.

Thank you to Dr. Yoshikawa and everyone who participated.
