On May 24, 2024, we welcomed Daisuke Osaka (逢坂大輔), founder of Assist Suit no Madoguchi, for an online seminar on reducing lower-back strain in healthcare and care settings.

Mr. Osaka is a physical therapist and representative director of Robotasu Net Co., Ltd. He runs the specialist information website Assist Suit no Madoguchi, supporting the selection, introduction and use of equipment according to work tasks. He also serves as an advisor to the nonprofit Robot Business Support Organization (RobiZy).

Changing diapers in healthcare and care settings can place strain on the lower back through repeated forward bending and twisting.

In the seminar, Mr. Osaka shared information on assist suits and discussed approaches to reducing physical strain using a range of equipment.

The event was planned and operated by Hiroshi Yagi, administrator of Omutsu Johokyoku (Adult Diaper Information Center Japan). Together with participants, he learned about the physical strain involved in changing diapers from Mr. Osaka, a specialist in assist suits.
