On December 22, 2025, we welcomed Ms. Suzuki (鈴木光絵) of LAC Healthcare Co., Ltd. for an online seminar, “Learning from the Nordic Countries: Approaches to Transfer Support.”

Drawing on her experience in the Nordic countries, she discussed differences between Japanese and Nordic approaches to transfer support, and perspectives that help both those providing and receiving assistance feel secure.

Transfers are closely connected not only to moving into beds and wheelchairs but also to toileting and diaper changes. The seminar offered an opportunity to consider ways of providing safe support while reducing physical strain, including the use of assistive products.
